Tonita began with a belief

Search and Discovery needed to be rebuilt from the ground up for the AI era.

This mission has guided our development of an AI-native search and discovery engine powered by the latest generation of language, vision, and code-generation models. As of spring 2026, our search innovations power the Tonita web and iOS apps, with a catalog spanning apparel and accessories from thousands of brands and millions of listings — helping shoppers discover products they would never find through traditional keyword search, filters, or endless product grids.

Under the hood

A glass-box engine powered by code

Tonita’s glass-box architecture gives the AI transparent access to the underlying search services that power discovery. Rather than consuming the default output of a black-box search engine, the LLM can reason over user intent, generate code-based search strategies, tune retrieval, adjust ranking logic, and orchestrate the full search pipeline to deliver better results. The commerce-optimized stack combines large language models, code-generation models, visual understanding, semantic retrieval, product ranking, real-time catalog intelligence, and virtual try-on.
